SKILLBRIDGE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Overview:
David Roberts Consulting, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), provides SkillBridge internship opportunities for military members transitioning from military service to civilian employment. Service members are eligible to utilize SkillBridge within 180 days of their scheduled separation from service. Please review DoD’s SkillBridge site for more details on the program.

Duration:
The internship is a 6-month program designed to bring your skills and military experience to the civilian sector. This program takes place during your last days of service, allowing you to explore a new career path while earning your current pay and maintaining your military benefits.

> RIDECARE POSITIONS
RIDECARE
Oklahoma leads the nation in compassionate, person-centered mental health transportation and RIDECARE is at the forefront of this critical service. Through our partnership with the state, we help break down barriers to care by providing safe, reliable transport for individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated, organized, and dependable individuals to join our team as Mental Health Transport Drivers. This role is ideal for those with a calm, professional demeanor and a desire to make a direct, positive impact in their community.

Pay Range
$20–$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Company vehicle and work-related expenses provided
Key Responsibilities
-
Provide safe, timely transportation for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis
-
Maintain a professional, compassionate, and discreet presence at all times
-
Ensure vehicles are clean, prepared, and maintained according to company standards

Complete required documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch and care facilities

Support efforts to reduce stigma and improve access to mental health care
What We Look For

Military background or equivalent experience preferred

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in sensitive situations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

TRANSPORT
DRIVER
Drive people experiencing a mental health crisis to the care they need.
SUPERVISORY POSITION
Transition to a role managing drivers at RC or an external company.
DELIVERY DRIVER
Gain the experience and knowledge needed to gain employment as a DCL driver with another transport company such as UPS or FedEx

> DR SECURITY POSITIONS
DR Security

Position Overview
We are seeking disciplined, observant, and highly reliable Security Officers to support our mental health transportation operations and general security services. This role is ideal for individuals with strong situational awareness, a calm presence under pressure, and a passion for serving the community.

Pay Range
$20–$30 per hour
(based on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and facilities

Detect and respond to suspicious behavior, vandalism, theft, or other security concerns

Assist in safely managing individuals experiencing mental health crises during transport

Maintain high visibility and a professional, authoritative presence

Conduct observations, reporting, and de-escalation as needed
What We Look For

Military background or equivalent discipline and leadership experience

High level of situational awareness and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and composed

Experience or willingness to be trained in mental health crisis management

Ability to inspire trust, respect, and maintain authority in sensitive situations
SECURITY OFFICER
Serve as a security professional.
OBTAIN CERTIFICATIONS
CLEET certification is the first step to becoming a law enforcement professional.
SUPERVISORY POSITION
Transition to a role managing other security officers with DRS or an external company.
CAREER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT OR SECURITY AGENCY
Transition to a career in law enforcement or as a private or government security agent.
